I started writing the following on July 13, 2025…

My car was stolen two days ago and yet my only response is praise.

Praise because I serve a God who has instructed me to consider it pure joy when I face trials of many kinds because the testing of my faith produces perseverance. This steadfastness will ensure that I am mature and complete, lacking nothing. ¹

Praise because this new life I have in Christ means that I have been instructed to not let my heart be troubled or afraid. The peace I have in Jesus is a gift that I have no right to neglect. ²

Praise because I’ve lived long enough to know that God works all things out for my good and His glory. ³

Praise because I belong in the company of those who have been counted as righteous because of their faith. ⁴

Praise because I know that whatever God has taken away is simply to clear the way for the new thing that He has in me. ⁵

Praise because my true treasures are stored up in heaven where it cannot and will not break or be taken away. ⁶

Praise because Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father testifying on my behalf. ⁷

Praise because I know my Father trusts me enough to be used my Him. My life is a testimony that bears witness to His love and goodness. 

Praise because this situation is teaching me to depend on the community God has blessed me with. Just as much as I’m willing to give and serve, God also wants me to recognize that in some seasons I need to have the courage and vulnerability to depend on others. 

I never finished this entry on July 13th, but returning to it 8 days later there’s so much more I could say about this situation. The words that come to my heart are these:

God has been more than faithful 
and I pray that I never again question 
His provision and hand in my life. 

He loves me.
He trusts me. 
And no matter what situation I face, 
He will always be more than enough for me.
