The Holy Spirit is teaching what this means:
“No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the patch tears away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins—and the wine is destroyed, and so are the skins. But new wine is for fresh wineskins.”
Mark 2:21-22 (ESV)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
The old me can’t receive the new blessing. I can’t receive what God has for me insecure, thinking I have to work for what it is He has for me, with timidity, stifled by fear.
Jesus I’m asking you to change me.
Please heal my heart.
Grant me the courage to be vulnerable knowing that this life You’ve given me is not for me.
Remind me that I don’t have to do anything to inherit the blessing You have for me except be exactly who You have called me to be.
Help me to pace my steps and heart in accordance with Your will and timing.
Father in humility I ask that You continue to prepare me for what it is that You have for me.
I trust Your sovereignty and wisdom.
Thank You for Your timing.
It’s all for Your glory and honor.
I love You.
